Namibia’s capital is called Windhoek.
Some other big cities in Namibia are Walvisbay, Swakopmund and Rundu.
Namibia’s nature is stunning. Around every “corner” you drive the landscape changes. Most landscape is desert but also Canyons (Fish River Canyon) and lots of nature reserves.
In Namibia you find the world famous Etosha National Park where you can find elephant, black and white rhino’s, lion and many antilopes.
Namibia has a long beach coastline but it is not famous about the beach holidays. A part of this coast line is called “Skeleton Coast”.
Here you can see many big ships (vessels) who are stranded on the beach during one of the historical storms along this coast.
The biggest export product of Namibia are diamonds although the majority of the people live from agriculture.
About 50% of the population lives in poverty.

The best period to travel Namibia
The best periods to travel trough Namibia are the months March, April, October and November. The temperature isn’t to high during these months and during these months is easier to spot the wildlife due to low grasses.
Weather and climate
Namibia has a desert climate which means that during the summer the average temperature will be between 20 – 25 degrees Celsius and during the winter months the average temperature will be between 25 – 35 degrees Celsius.
Travel documents
Your passport needs to be valid for at least 6 months the moment you leave Namibia.
You only need a visa for Namibia if you stay for 3 months or longer.
You can buy that visa when entering the country.
Malaria
Within Namibia there are areas with malaria.
The authorities advise to protect yourself against malaria.
