Zambia’s capital city is Lusaka. Some other big cities in the country are: Ndola, Kitwe, Kabwe, Livingstone and Chingola.
Zambia’s country side has lots of forest and swamps. In Zambia’s reserves you can find several big animals like: elephant, hippo, lion and leopard.
The most famous reserves are Kafue national park, South Luangwa and Lower Zambezi.
The Victoria Falls you can find at the border with Zimbabwe.
The local economy is depending on the mining industry. Zambians are very friendly and hospitable.

The best period to travel Zambia
May until August (winter period in Zambia) are the best months to travel the country. During these months you avoid the rainy season and tropical storms. The summer months are October until April (wet season).
Weather and climate
Zambia has a tropical climate (Savannah & Steppe).
During the Summer months the average temperature will be between 20-25 degrees (Celsius) and during the Winter months the average temperature will be around the 20 degrees (Celsius).
In the valleys the average temperature is about 10 degrees (Celsius) lower.
Travel documents
Your passport must be valid for 6 months when leaving Zambia.
You need a visa which you can buy at the border for about $ 50,-.
This visa is valid for 90 days.
A new option is buying a Uni Visa for $ 50,- at the border.
With this visa you can travel between Zimbabwe and Zambia only but as often as you like. The visa is valet for 3 months.
Malaria
All around Zambia there is a possibility of getting malaria.

– Buying and/or drinking alcohol only if you are 18 years or older.
– The maximum alcohol promilage while driving is 0,8.
