About Botswana
Since 1966 Botswana is independent from the United Kingdom.
Botswana’s capital is Gaborone and this is also the countries biggest city. Some other big cities in Botswana are Francistown, Maun and Kasane. Botswana has different kind of wildlife habitats.
In addition to the delta and desert areas there are grasslands and savannas.
Many species of wildlife can be found in these different areas like bleu wildebeest (gnoe), elephant, zebra, hippo, lion and leopard.
The country is famous for its birdlife (about 550 different species).
Chobe National Park has the world’s largest concentration of African elephants. This park together with Moremi game reserve in the Okavango Delta are the major tourist destinations.

During these periods it’s not so very hot and there’s not that much rainfall.

During the summer period the average day temperature is 25 degrees (Celsius) and during the winter period it is about 30 to 35 degrees (Celsius) during the day. Summer and winter periods in Botswana are just the opposite of European summer and winter.
